iPhone 5 – iPhone 5 Could Be Launched Along With A Cheaper iPhone 4
Steve Jobs has resigned from his position as CEO of Apple & Tim Cook, the so-called “functional genius” has taken the reins. Could it change its plans for the iPhone 5 launch?
Recent reports are claiming that Apple is beginning to envision a cheaper iPhone 4, immediately after the start of the fifth version of iPhone. The move is said to gain new customers from emerging countries, but also to compete with low-entry Android smartphones and Nokia.
Rumors say that their Asian partners offer Apple has begun manufacturing lower version of the current iPhone 4. The “iPhone 4S” could only have 8GB and could also be made from cheaper materials, and even sports degraded standards, which will make the production cycle much easier for Apple.
The Apple might be working with some of the largest carriers in the world, China Mobile and China Telecom to take the attack to attract the Chinese market. If this move will prove to be successful, Apple will improve the signal, but also strengthened its position in the Asian market.
“A lower price version of the iPhone 4 seems to be a necessary evil at this point the iPhone release cycle, especially in emerging markets, where the average income of people is much lower,” said Channing Smith, co-manager of Capital Advisors Growth Fund.
It could be a wise move by Apple to release both the iPhone 5, which could be regarded as the “premium” iPhone and a cheaper version, whether the iPhone 4 or maybe a completely different model. It could be the sword with two sharp Apple blades could use to resist the threat of Android and perhaps WP7 which could take the mobile market by surprise.
